Plant Care & Potting Mix advice

Over the past few years we have fine tuned the potting mix and this is what we like to use. The ratios really depend on your climate. Sometimes you will need to experiment and adjust over time. 1. Searles Premium Advanced Potting Mix (About 50-60%). 2. Coarse Perlite (20% or adjust to your desire) 3. Coarse Sand (About 10-15%) 4. 2-7mm Pumice, 4-20mm for bigger pots or in ground plants 5. 3-6 mm Zeolite, Scoria and Coarse Diatomite 6. Earth Life Cactus Mate 7. Various Premium Dry amendments from Dr Greenthumbs. As we are in QLD we do use quite a bit of mineral content due to the wet summers we tend to have. This prevents plants from getting multiple issues with rot, pests and fungal deseases. Adjust to your climate.
